For the CPT exam, accountancy is considered to be a scoring exam. If you are good in accounting then your chances of cracking the CPT also increases So here is some preparation tips you can follow.

  • Make sure to be thorough with your mercantile law and do not miss out on any of the laws, definitions and any topics.
  • First, complete the macroeconomics and then move on to the microeconomics. Questions from macroeconomics are also considered to be a good scoring option.
  • Quantitative aptitude is important here as well. Here in the mathematics, it will be great if you first do all the easy sums and then move on to the complicated ones.
  • Selecting the right answers within a given frame of time is important, as the level of competition will be very high.
  • You need to be confident in your approach. So your knowledge will not depend on your guess work, but you will be confident about all that you answer.

After 12th you can start your preparation for the exam.

Good Luck!

Preparing for the exam is one thing and preparing well for the exam is another! Some of the useful tips are:

1. Collect all the study material- The first step to clear this exam is to get the right study material. Collect last year papers, solved and unsolved papers too.

2. Prepare a study plan & stick to it

Go through the syllabus. Count all the topics in each subject. Note down the total number of chapters in each subject in a table.

Now, divide the total chapters into remaining number of days for the exam. This will give you a clear idea on how many topics you need to finish each day in order to cover the entire syllabus.

3. Studying & marking difficulties/doubts Start studying your topics. First, read the entire chapter in one go and mark the problems. Next, solve and discuss those problems. Read the chapter again. This will help you remember the content.

4. Note down important points Whenever you study for CA CPT exam, make sure to note down the important points separately. This way, you will not have to go through the entire chapter again and again and moreover, you will have notes ready that will be revised easily at the time of the main exam. Therefore, make a separate notebook to jot down important acts, statistics or other significant points.

5. Revision of each chapter should be done in two ways. First, Make sure to revise everything that you have read in the entire day. Secondly, Weekly revision so that you remember well what you read last week. This will keep your concepts clear.

6. Proper Guidance Proper guidance from right and experienced teachers, seniors or authentic coaching institutes is very beneficial for the preparation of CA CPT exam. So find out the right place or right person who can guide you in the best of way.

7. Go through last year question paper. Last year question papers will help you get an idea of what kind of questions can be put up in the exam. Practice mock tests as they are very helpful for the preparation of this exam. They make you realize how capable you are in actually solving the problems. So appear for mock tests. There are many places that help you practice mock tests.

Good Luck!
