The application process for a new EWS certificate and the process for renewing an existing EWS certificate are both the same. To obtain a new EWS certificate, you must go to the same issuing authority with the revised set of financials for the current fiscal year. While the exact time frame varies from state to state, in most cases the certificate is renewed 21 days following the application date.
