Hello,

.

It depends on the Institution and course you are choosing. Most of the universities have counseling based admission where few of the Institutes will have direct Admissions. Coming to admission process, once you apply in the Colleges, based on your previous year educational grades you will be seleced in the College. So, firstly know about the university/Institute you want to join. And go for admission process. Like in Medical Colleges, the admissions are based on the NEET examination. It is JEE Mains for Engineering Colleges. And few Government Universities also follow the State level entrance examination for admission to various courses. Like Government Law College, Mumbai takes admissions based on MHCET Law entrance exam though there is CLAT exam because not all Universities accept CLAT score.
