Hello
If you didn’t have Maths in 12th, you cannot take the regular BTech/BE in Software Engineering or Computer Science in India, because Maths is compulsory for engineering entrance and admission.
But don’t worry you still have good alternative paths
1: Do BCA (Best option without Maths)
Eligibility: 12th pass (Maths usually not compulsory in many colleges)
What you learn: Programming, software development, databases, web & app development
After BCA:
MCA (some colleges may require Maths — depends)
Direct software jobs (developer, tester, analyst)
Jobs possible:
Software Developer, Web Developer, App Developer, QA Tester
2: Add Maths later (NIOS / Bridge course)
If you really want BTech Software Engineering:
Study 12th Maths through NIOS / private board
Then you become eligible for:
BTech / BE
Engineering entrance exams
This takes 1 extra year, but opens the engineering route.
3: BSc Computer Science / IT
Some colleges allow without Maths (private colleges mainly)
More theory-based than BCA
Good foundation for software roles
4: Skill-based route (No degree restriction initially)
You can still enter software by:
Learning coding (Python, Java, Web Development)
Doing certifications + projects
Building a portfolio + internships
Many companies hire based on skills, not Maths background.
Best advice for you
If you want software engineering without wasting time → BCA → MCA / Jobs
If you want engineerin g title (BTech) → Add Maths via NIOS first
Hope this works
All the best
