In JoSAA counselling female candidates are eligible to get admission under gender neutral and female pool as well. It is not mandatory that female candidates are allocated a seat under female pool only. You are eligible for a seat under Female pool as well as Gender-Neutral pool of a particular institute/branch. Seat allocation depends on number of seats available, category, rank and preferences of institute/branch you will be allotted a seat either under gender neutral pool or female-only pool. If you are satisfied with the mock seat allocation then you need not to change your preference but if you want better choice of institute and branch you can change the order of preferences or add new preferences accordingly on or before the last date of round 1 choice filling.
