For a science student with pcm to join navy there are a couple of ways.

First to give the nda exam which is conducted twice a year in the month if september and april.

Note- Female candidates are not admitted through this exam

Secondly there is a technical entry which is based on the marks of jee mains exam.Though you don't beed to score very high in this as the competition is less but there is a ssb round after this which invludes interview.You need atleast 70% aggregate in 10+2 exam to qualify.

Thirdly there is an an artificer apprentice entry in which the candidate needs to be qualified in 10+2 examination with 60% or more marks in aggregate with Maths & Physics and atleast one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer science  from an educational board recognized by Central/State Government.

Note- Only male candidates can apply for this post

If you are currently a Std. 12th student, you can apply for for recruitment of Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR), Matric Recruit (MR), Musician (MUS), Sports Entry and Artificer Apprentices (AA) which are published in the Employment News and all leading National/Regional Newspapers in Dec/Jan and Jun/Jul every year.

Though if you wish to join as an officer in the Indian Navy, the selection is through:

• Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) entries
• Direct Entry Permanent Commission /Short Service Commission
• University Entry Scheme (UES)

for which you would need a graduation degree first.
