Hello,

First of all the syllabus of medical sciences is very vast and there will be some topics/subjects that you have never learned before so you will need to spend your time learning those new chapters. Also the kind of questions you get in MS(option) also makes it a bit tough like clinical part of Paper-2 would be more challenging for BHMS doctor. Moreover some questions which are asked are out of syllabus questions and quite a few questions from periferal areas. Hence it becomes difficult to handle. Also your competition will be from fellow MBBS students who have a considerable knowledge about the subject from beforehand, but for a BHMS student learning the basics of medical science only will take a lot of time unless you have a previous background of it.So I advice you against opting for it.

But if you are really passionate for taking Medical Science and are willing to remove the needful time from your schedule to study it you can go for it.But the above stated difficulties make it a lot tough for BHMS students to choose medical sciences as an optional.

All the best!
