There are 2 formats of animation, 2d and 3d but I strongly suggest you learn the 2d format as its here to stay and also has a great market share in content developed across the world.

Learn pencil drawing so you can create good characters and bg.

Get a crash course on arts in terms of color themes for nice bg’s.

Learn a 2d software such as flash or harmony.

Develop a good reel and work as an intern in a good studio without any pay for atleast 6 months.
