See u are from one of the core branch having most no of the applicants which itself creates a huge competition. The score u have obtained might be enough for getting cleared the cut off score for the GATE exam but it might be sufficient for u to get admissioned in the good colleges like NITs or IITs for pursuing ur further studies.
See the cut off for these govt college starts from the marks above 600 - 650 and u are well below than that so u should be opting for other private colleges for ur MTECH study.
