If you have failed Class 7, you usually cannot automatically go to Class 8. You generally have two options:

• Re-test: Most schools give a second chance. If you passed Class 6 but are struggling with Class 7, ask your teachers if there is a "Supplementary Exam" or a "Compartment Exam" you can take right now to move up.

• Repeat the Year: If the school feels you haven't understood the basics of Class 7, they will ask you to repeat the grade. While this feels bad, it is sometimes better than going to Class 8 and finding it even more difficult.
