You haven't specified in which course you need to be admitted, in which university or college so I'll give a general answer as to what a university requires from its candidate.

An institution requires its candidates to have a 12th-pass certificate from a UGC-recognized Board of Examination with a minimum aggregate of  50%-55% in it. This is the benchmark for all the universities. Now, if the college you want to be admitted to has an entrance test, you will have to appear for it.
