You just have to select appearing . The month and year is for the students who are pass out. When you choose appearing it will not going to show you the date and month  but still show just put the date when your classes started.

Hello,For 12th board your year of passing or appearing would be 2021 and the month of appearing would be when your board exam of being conducted and the result declaration month would be when results will be released. You can write the month of when the exam was conducted in 2020 itself.
