If you wish to become a Software Engineer then you can appear for the entrance exam in your 12th class like JEE Main, BITSAT, SRM, Manipal & your state level entrance exam etc.

You can take CSE or IT branch in your engineering program.

To get admission in NITs and IITs make sure you need to get 75% marks in your board exam as a general category or you should be in top 20 percentile.
