Hello Dear

See, cracking the JEE mains entrance exam doesn't require and board eligibility / minimum marks rather this there will be an individual cuttoff for the various categories inorder to clear the entrance exam inorder to appear for the next level which will vary yearly and about the coaching point of view , if you think your concepts are not good then you go with the option Coaching otherwise without coaching also you can score the good percentage score in the JEE mains as well.

The minimum 12th mark needed is 75 with maths, physics, chemistry as the compulsory subjects. JEE main syllabus consists of basics of maths, chemistry,phusics from ur school level so self study is enough if ur passionate towards JEE main but if u can't self study the joining coaching is mandatory.

JEE mains are used to seek admission in NITs, IITs.
