I'd like to add that you should go through your literature book which has short stories thoroughly. Read it and try to understand the grammatical structure of sentences, and use the same when you write answers. This will help you immensely.

You can also buy book called as Essential of Grammar by Raymond Murphy which is indepth and lucid and well written with numerous examples to get good grasp of all topics in ICsE baord.
