Yes you can go into tool designing after completing your Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. This course is in demand for Diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering. You can either do part time or full time course in this.

The course duration may vary from course to course. If you want to go with B.Tech degree, it will take 4 years to complete the course. If you want to go with M.Tech, it would take 2 years. If you want to go with specialisation in any of the above fields, it will take 2-10 months of duration depending upon the specialisation you are taking.
