On one hand, the CAT application form has no option for applying under the EWS quota.

On the other hand, new IIMs have financial and infrastructural limitations that makes the addition of seats not feasible.

This year, IITs could introduce 5% EWS reservation; IIMs unsure

may be till year end of 2019 it wil be implemented and if you are considering under general catergory yes you can apply for  10% ews but u should see if you are the deserving candidate to be considered under the EWS quota (check the eligibilty)

1) People owning over 5 acres of land

2) People owning a residential plot of more than 1,000 square fee

3) People owing plots of land more than 100 square yards in notified areas, and people owning plots of land more than 200 square yards in non-notified area

4) People with annual incomes exceeding Rs. 8 lakh
