Yes, you can appear in MHTCET exam to get admission in private colleges only as to reserve seat in Govt college Maharashtra domicile is required. For reference you can go through the below provided MHTCET eligibility -

No if I only want government colleges of Maharashtra I can give MHTCET exam and I am from mp

For Govt colleges, domicile would be required.
