The first year of B-tech CSE is more about refreshing the past topics. You will have subjects such as Chemistry, Basic Engineering Elcetronics, Maths -1 in the first semester which has topics mostly related to the topics you have already studied in intermediate. In the second semester you will subjects such as Physics, Engineering Graphics, Maths-2. It will also include Programming for problem solving subject which includes the basics of C language. With this subject it will be your first step towards becoming a computer software engineer. Overall 1st year of Btech CSE deals with the introduction of knowledge of all the basic requirements needed to become an engineer. All the best
