Hello,
Yes you can get into IITs after clearing GATE with desired ranks but before getting admissions you must first clear all your backlogs. but with his diploma his degree of Engineering is also necessary ..
only with diploma course you are not eligible for gate. Your backlogs might affect your placements into PSUs.
