Yeah you are somewhat correct, percentile didn't give the idea about the rank that would be scored by the candidate because this was the first time wherein this change was made, from next year onwards everyone will be able to guess their ranks. Result in percentile doesn't matter, you marks are the same, . your rank is the same, everything is same.
