With a rank of 2,55,997 it is not possible to get a seat in IIT. However you have many other alternatives open. Here are some of them:

1.Pick a college based on your Mains marks. Yes with this rank you may not get NITs/IIITs/GFTIs but you can get some other colleges:

2. You can take a drop and prepare for engineering exams again. 

3. Try getting into the private institutions.
