You got 305 marks in NEET 2025. You have passed the exam, because the qualifying marks are around 144. So you are eligible for counselling.

But to get a seat in a government MBBS college, your marks should be much higher. For general and EWS category, you need around 570 to 600 marks. For OBC category, you need around 530 to 580 marks. SC and ST students may get seats with 480 to 500 marks.

So with 305 marks, your chance of getting a government medical college is very low. It is almost not possible in All India Quota or state quota.

But you can still try for private or deemed universities. These colleges may accept students with 300 to 350 marks, especially in management or NRI quota. You can check with your state counselling authority or MCC website.

Hi,

Scoring 305 marks in NEET 2025 it's a low score when it comes to getting a government MBBS seat, especially if you're in the general category. But don’t lose hope there are still some possibilities based on your category, state quota, and course flexibility. In most states, government MBBS seats under General category start closing around 480–520 marks, depending on competition. However, if you belong to a reserved category like SC, ST, or OBC, or from EWS, then the cutoff is often lower, and 305 might just give you a chance in remote or newer medical colleges.

Also, while MBBS might be difficult with this score, you can definitely consider other government-run AYUSH courses like:BAMS (Ayurveda) or BHMS (Homeopathy). These programs are available in both government and semi-government colleges and often have cutoffs in the 250–350 range.

If you’re really set on MBBS, another option is taking a drop year and preparing again with full dedication. Many students do this and come back stronger. But if time or finances are a concern, you could also go for private MBBS if affordable or paramedical and allied health sciences in government colleges.

Make sure you participate in both AIQ and state counseling rounds to increase your chances.
