With 402 marks in NEET 2025 under general category, getting admission in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar through government quota is very difficult. In recent years, students who got seats in PIMS under general category had NEET ranks between around 49,000 to 72,000. But with 402 marks, your expected rank is around 2.5 to 3 lakh, which is much higher than their cut off.

Still, you can try for admission under management quota or NRI quota in PIMS or other private medical colleges in Punjab or nearby states. These quotas have lower cut offs but the fees will be much higher.

If you don't get MBBS, you can also consider other courses like BDS (Dental), BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BPT (Physiotherapy), or Nursing, where cut offs are lower.

So in simple words, you might not get MBBS seat in PIMS with 402 marks under general category, but you can try for private college seats through management quota or go for other medical-related courses.
