when seats are left unoccupied after all allotment rounds, they are given to Preparatory category. This year, around 5000 students qualified and given ranks under SC Category for a total of 1594 vacant seats. Same goes for other categories as well. Since there will be no seats lying vacant, there is absolutely a chance to get an allotment under your Category.
