Hello buddy,  thanks for connecting with career 360. We hope we will solve your query in the best way.

You don't have any chance of getting admission in IITs/NITs if you are from general category. But there are many other good private and government engineering colleges.

If you have good rank in Jee  main than you should apply for  DTU Delhi,  NSIT Delhi,  PEC Chandigarh,  Thapar University Pataila, College of engineering Pune etc.

You should also give the state engineering exams and   other all India level engineering exams like :- BITSAT, COMEDK etc.

Best of luck for your future buddy!

Sorry but as your board doesn't have improvement exam, you won't be able to get admission into NITs

Sorry to say you will not be eligible to take admission in IITs and NITs for admission to IITs the candidate should satisfy at least one of these two criteria:-

He/she is within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in his/her respective Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination.

He/she has secured 75% (for GEN or OBC-NCL) or 70% (SC, ST or PwD) of aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination.

All The Very Best and Good Luck.

Please note that there is no minimum marks requirement in the 12th examination for writing the JEE Main exam. However, candidates have to secure the passing marks. You just need to pass it.
You have secured 74.6%. So you are eligible.

Hello Rahul Chittur. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.

Note that for gaining admissions into the NITs, you will need to write JEE Mains.

For being eligible to write JEE Mains, you need to have a miminum of 75% marks in PCM. In case of ST/SC/PWD Candidates, the percentage criteria will be 65%.

If you want to have official confirmation, please see page 13 of the official JEE Mains brochure:

I am afraid to say that as a result, you have no chance of getting into the NITs if you are a GEN category student. Hope this helps you and all the best!
