Yes you can get seat in nit, not average rank nits but top rank nits too but you have to sacrifice your dream branch if you are choosing top nits. In top 5 nits you can only get textile, production, metallurgical like branches. And in other nits you can choose your favorite branch. All I am saying this on the basis of previous years opening and closing ranks for nits admissions.
