JEE Main 2025: College Predictor | Marks vs Percentile vs Rank
New: JEE Seat Matrix- IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTI | NITs Cutoff | Top B.Tech Colleges
Hello there,
With an 82.63 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 under the OBC-NCL category, you are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025 . Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2025
To qualify for JEE Advanced, candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 performers in JEE Mains. The distribution is as follows:
OBC-NCL : 27% of 2,50,000 = 67,500 candidates
Your percentile of 82.63 suggests that your rank is beyond the cutoff for the OBC-NCL category. Therefore, you are not among the top 67,500 candidates in your category and thus do not qualify for JEE Advanced. Next Steps
Focus on NITs and IIITs : With your percentile, you can aim for admission to NITs and IIITs through JoSAA counseling .
Consider State Engineering Colleges : Explore admission opportunities in state government engineering colleges .
Explore Private Universities : Institutions like VIT Vellore , SRM Chennai , and Manipal University may also be viable options.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, then feel free to share your questions with us, we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
Hello,
With an 82.63 percentile in JEE Main 2025 and belonging to the OBC-NCL category, you are unfortunately unlikely to qualify for JEE Advanced 2025 based on previous year trends.
To be eligible for JEE Advanced , you need to be among the top 2.5 lakh JEE Main candidates (including all categories). The qualifying percentile for OBC-NCL category in recent years was around:
2023 : ~ 74.3 percentile
2024 (expected) : ~ 78–80 percentile
But to be safe , most OBC candidates who qualified for JEE Advanced had percentile above 85 .
All India Rank (AIR) : ~ 180,000 – 200,000
OBC-NCL rank : ~ 40,000 – 50,000
This is just on the edge or slightly outside the qualifying range for JEE Advanced.
Wait for official cutoff announcements (expected soon after the JEE Main April session).
Appear in April session again (if you haven’t already) to improve your score.
Even if not eligible for JEE Advanced, you can still get into good NITs, IIITs, or state colleges with this score under OBC category.
Know your college admission chances in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, many States/ Institutes based on your JEE Main rank by using JEE Main 2025 College Predictor.
Determining your selection probability with 82.63 percentile in OBC category is a complex task.
Recommendations:
Hope You get selected !
with 82.63 percentile in JEE Main and OBC category, it's unlikely you'll qualify for JEE advanced, as the cutoff is usually around 85-88 percentile. the cutoff varies sligtly each year based on difficulty and number of candidates. you can still aim for good NITs or state engineering colleges through JEE Main counselling.
