Hello,
The admission to NITs occur through JoSAA counselling. JoSAA is the authority that is responsible for conducting the counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. In order to consider you for the NIT admission, you should register for this. Then admission proceeds with the help of JoSAA rank list. This rank list includes only the candidates who applied for JoSAA. This is different from JEE Mains rank list. But with 86% you can get into NITs. For NITs, there are two types of quotas: Home State (HS) and Other State (OS). You can apply for HS quota in NIT Andhra Pradesh.
