If you have been given a compartment in Mathematics but an overall percentage of 63, you need to first clear the compartment exam. Then, you can attempt the improvement exam to raise your marks. But where admissions into NITs and IITs are concerned, the eligibility criteria are strict.

In your case, in present scenario since your percentage is less than 75 you are not eligible for the admissions. But after giving the improvement next year , if your percentage crosses the 75% mark , then you are absolutely eligible for the admissions in iit and nit.
You do not need to worry since if your percentage next year is above 75 since you can certainly get an admission in iit and nit . So presently you should focus on your studies and try to secure the marks so that you are eligible for the admissions.
