I think that you may have the chance to get into the Nits like NIT Rourkee etc you may get the seat in some of the most prestigious NITs but I should tell you that  you may not get the core branches. If really need the core branches then keep your preference as the less reputed universities and core branches. I hope this helps.

As ews quota is newly implemented so its difficult for me to assure you that with this rank can you get nits or not.
But till now according to information the cutoff of ews category will be between the general candidates and obc category student.

So its very difficult for you to get admission into any nits with any branch .
As there are total of 18617 seats in nit and general are awarded 10 percent quota so atleast one must have rank under 10k or 11k  to get into nits .
