With a rank of 53k there is no possibility of getting core branches in NIT colleges. You can get lower branches such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering and so on. As per previous year cutoff you can get the following NIT through home state quota :

• NIT Mizoram
• NIT Sikkim
• NIT Arunachal Pradesh
• NIT Manipur
• NIT Hamirpur
• NIT Srinagar
• NIT Silchar

I would suggest writing entrance examinations for colleges to secure a seat in core branches. Else you can apply to state colleges through management or vacany quota.
