You dont need to drop as for preparatory course is 1year before actual undergraduate admissions will begin.
The course is purely residential whwre IITs will train you.

Means from this year you shall be alloted preparatory course and admissiin to Btech commence sfrom 2019.

Top 2000 candidates under SC category have high chances of conversion.
