Hi Saud,

In USA and Canada and some other countries, a bachelors program is a four-year program and thus the 3-year Indian bachelor's program is not considered enough for an MS degree. Some universities require the candidates to complete a few extra credits to be considered at par with the US bachelors program.

However, WES (a non-profit organization) evaluates the different programs and considers the 3-year programs equivalent to a US bachelors program when the aspirant has:

  • Earned the degree with Division I
  • The institution is recognised by Indian NAAC with a Grade of A or above

A number of US universities do consider the Indian bachelor's degrees for Masters programs. I suggest you that send in your transcripts to the university officials before you decide to apply.

All the best for your future!
