Yes you can. You are BTech in biotechnology graduate student. Which is very good subject to go for further research or job. But if you want to go in machine learning like mechanical engineering in your higher study you can do it.

When you are giving GATE examination you have to fill the form. So there you mention which subject you want as your core subject. If your rank is good then you can easily join in your stream. I'll suggest you some good college name below
