Dear Aspirant,

Your 12th percentage does matter in your near future as many of the colleges give admission on the basis of 12th marks merit list. Same is true for many entrance exams also as many colleges along with their entrance exam also want the student to have a minimum of 75% in 12th.

As far as long term effect is considered your 12th marks will not be of any importance as for the placement point of view your academic background does not matter much. You have to have a minimum qualifying marks though. After that, it is all about your talent and skills. 

Many students in their graduation with percentages in the range of 60s get the better placements then the students with 80%.

Now with your percentage, you might not be able to get a good college but that will not be such a big deal. Moreover, I suggest you should not choose the path of engineering or Doctor or such traditional courses. Try to do different courses. Comment your stream of 12th so that I could assist you further.
