Hello Vaishnavi, Because in the 1st merit list you might not have come in the merit list of any colleges. Just applying for the counseling doesn't mean that you will definitely get a seat. It all depends on the closing rank. You might wait for the further rounds to get the seat because many students leave the seats after the 1st round.
