Shravan yes you can definitely appear in IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore along with JEE advance. But let me tell you both the papers are way different in every respect, they are no way similar.

  • First thing JEE Advance is for getting into IITs for engineering and IPM for a dual integrated program of BBA+MBA so you need to make sure in which field you want to go
  • Second in JEE Advance you would be asked questions from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry whereas in IPM you will be grilled on 2 sections - quantitative ability and verbal ability
  • Third in JEE you only need to clear exam and get seats according to your choices and rank whereas in IPM after you get shortlisted you need to go through WAT and interview round

Only MCQ pattern of exam is same so I suggest you to go through it in detail and then take a decision.

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best for your exams!!

Hello Shravan,

JEE Advance and IPM might have the same pattern, but the syllabus is different. They are two different streams. For instance, JEE Advance has Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, but IPM has two sections(According to IPM syllabus 2014)- Quantitative and Verbal Ability. So, you can appear but you might have trouble preparing for both of them simultaneously. You can do both if you think you got that confidence to clear it. That's all

Good Luck!

You can appear but there is a catch.
Both of their syllabus are different.
Jee advance = physics, chemistry, Maths
IPM = Aptitude and logical reasoning

1)Conic Sections,3-D geometry and Vector Algebra (Analytic geometry) - This is one of the most difficult topics in maths and they like asking difficult, time consuming question from this topic.

2)Calculus-Limits,differentiation, integration etc. This is one of the major chunks of the maths syllabus. Very important. Definitely , questions come from this topic every year.

3)Trignometry- Again ,a very important topic.

4)Probability,Matrices and Binomial Theorem - These topics are important and useful for engineering ,so questions can be expected from them.

5)Algebra and Complex analysis -  Another big chunk of the syllabus. They like asking questions related to logarithm, quadratic eqns, sequences and series etc.  Complex analysis is also important ,especially with respect to geometric interpretation of complex numbers.
