Hello,

Congrats on qualifying JEE Mains!!. It is ok if you weren't able to appear for the JEE Advance 2020 due to the prevailing pandemic situation . The Joint Admission Board of IIT's have taken the decision that all those candidates who had registered for JEE Advanced 2020 but were absent for the exam will be allowed to reappear for JEE Advanced 2021.These candidates need not write the JEE Mains 2021 and can directly write the 2021 JEE Advanced.

So if you had registered for JEE Advance 2020 and weren't able to appear for it , you have still got a chance to directly appear for the 2021 JEE Advance.

The last date for registration for JEE Advanced 2020 was 17th September 2020. You can only write JEE Advanced 2021 directly if you had qualified JEE Mains 2020 and had successfully registered for JEE Advanced 2020 but was unable to appear for JEE Advance 2020 due to certain reasons. So in such a situation you are provided with an option to appear directly for JEE Advanced 2021 . This is just a one time relaxation that has been provided to the candidates due to the prevailing pandemic situation.

Hello Aspirant , hope you are doing good.

So , to answer your question, JAB has indeed declared a notice in view of the covid 19 situations in the country that students who qualified for JEE Mains examination in 2020 but couldn't appear for JEE advance because of the pandemic, can reappear for JEE advanced in 2021 without having to re-qualify for JEE mains again. This is a one time relaxation that has been taken just to help the students in times of need.
