I would like to clear, that future means in a long term not within next 6 month or a year. Whole Civil Engineering fraternity and people dependent on this industry are waiting from last few years for good future but things are getting worst day by day.

In last few months market has changed very dramatically, due toDemonetization, RERAandGST. Demonetization hit the black money and created cash crunch in the market and labour moved to their native places, not ready to come back to sites for work. RERA has to still implemented efficiently. GST is like a bouncer for the construction industry a bit confused.

These changes created aTsunamiin the construction industry , as we know tsunami always damages the nature and human life. Similarly these changes made havoc in the industry ,loss of jobs, unavailability of labor, less new project launches, unable to complete projects , unavailability of funds with the companies etc.,

When we go with government data and project launches as, Housing for all, 100 Smart City,, Namami Ganga project, bullet train project ,various highway projects throughout the country, Setu Bharatam project, Inland waterways, Rashtriya Rajmarg Zila Sanjoyokta Pariyojna, Chardham Highway project, Sagarmala project, Bharstmala project.

Various financing initiatives are supported by the government:

Public Private Partnership (PPPs), encouraged in infrastructure sector, where majority share/equity belongs to the private entity.

Equity Capital(especially foreign) is the preferred form of funding rather than debt.

Merger and Acquisitiondeals are also encouraged, with the elimination of those considered unsound sponsors.

National Infrastructure and Investment Fund, whose objective is to maximize economic impact through investments in commercially viable projects.

Real Estate Investment Trusts(REIT)andInfrastructure Investment Trusts (InvIT),their purpose is to provide much needed liquidity for real estate and infrastructure players.

Sovereign Wealth Funds(SWFs)andPensionFundsare allowed to invest in infrastructure projects.

According to recent report ofRoyal institute of chartered surveyors, till 2020 there will be need of 4,00,000 Civil Engineers are required

Civil Engineering is the only branch which has the broadest and longest work field. In all fields of engineering civil engineering is the only branch which has the longest and broadest work field .There is a wide scope in Civil Engineering, if you are creative, innovative, sound knowledge of fundamentals and good knowledge of computer skills.

Hope you get it
