You can do any type of graduation be it Engineering or MBBS (PCMB). Roman Saini, was an MBBS, Amir 2015 Rank 2 an engineer, Tani Dabi AIR 1 2015 also an engineer.

But According  to me BA is best for graduation .During the course you will get advantages of the subjects which are in UPSC civil services Mains .You will not need to prepare for this topic separately you will indeed get advantage for writing skills ,you will able to comprehend a lot your optional subject can also be prepared very well if you do BA But you required to do this from a very good college .I am naming some college below Hindu College Delhi St Xaviers Mumbai Ferguson Pune Fergusson College Pune from this college listed above if you do ba then you will get good atmosphere and good coaching class services for doing this .You will get advantage to listen good speakers during our graduation days rather doing engineering or or any of the graduation stream .If you do ba then you won't to waste more years for preparation separately. Indeed you can utilise this 3 years in a productive manner .So I reckon all the freshers to opt for this field if you aim to be a Civil Servant thank you.
