I have done BE mechanical. Can i do phd in astrophysics directly by clearing UGC/CSIR JRF?
Answer (1)
Hello Piyush,
For the admission in the Indian Institue of Astrophysics, one must have a minimum required eligibility which is M.Sc.(Physics)/Integrated M.Sc. (Physics)/B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E. with minimum 60% marks from class 10.
So, you just cannot apply for Ph.D. after your BE, you must complete your PG as well before giving the NET exam, and then when you secure JRF you can apply for the admission.
Hope this helps,
Good Luck!

Hello Piyush,I meant that along with BE you will have to crack JRF as well then only you will be eligible to apply in the college.

Ohk means i have completed my BE in 2017, so they don't allow gap???

They do, there is no issue.Don't worry so much and start your preparation to crack JRF.Good Luck!
