Yes, you can appear for JEE Main and JEE Advanced if you pass Class 12 through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling). NIOS is accepted by IITs, NITs, and all top engineering colleges in India.
If you passed Class 12 in 2024 or will pass through NIOS in 2025, then you are eligible for JEE 2025 and 2026.
To appear for JEE Advanced, you must either get at least 75% marks in the board exam (or 65% if you are from SC/ST category), or be in the top 20% of your board. If you score well in NIOS, you will be eligible.
Since NIOS exams for May usually declare results by July or August, you can apply for JEE after getting your result. This result will be accepted for JEE Main 2026 and JEE Advanced 2026.
