Scoring a percentile of 88.38 in JEE mains is a very good score . 

Here, calculate your rank by this formula

Rank=(total number of students -(percentile*0.01*number of students))

and if u continued your hardwork in upcoming future u might be able to get a government college.

Remember success lies at the far end of the hardwork so if you were able to score this much you have a high caliber and a lot of room to grow and improve.

Yes, congrats on getting 88 percentile. It is a pretty good score you got there. From the research I did I found out that candidates with percentile over 70-80% would even qualify for the JEE Advance examinations. So, go for the JEE advance and try your luck among the top students trying for engineering in India.
