see  candidates who have passed or in final year of engineering or after passing graduation in science stream in the final year of masters course may apply for gate exam, gate score is necessary for you if you want to do phd or need to work as a research fellow position, b.sc in zoology course is 3 years duration and if you join for msc then in the final year of msc courses you may appear in gate exam on your relevant discipline.

GATE - graduate aptitude test in engineering exam is conducted every year by one of the IITs.

According to gate 2020 brochure the eligibility criteria for a bsc. Student to apply for Gate is.

B.Sc research course student who did  Bachelor’s degree in Science

(Post-Diploma/4 years after 10+2) can give the exam.

If your B.Sc in science is normal 3 year's graduation than you can not apply for this exam.
