You got the good percentile of 85 but it is not enough to get into top b schools like Indian institute of management. You got this percentile due to verbal ability and make sure you are clearing sectional cut off according to your respective category.
There is no minimum when it comes to competitive exams like cat or others. All you can do is to garner high percentile and do your best.
If you have time left with you then you can try for one more attempt or you can go for some colleges like tapmi manipal, nit,bit mesra and several others.

With 85 percentile as a general category student, you won't be able to get calls from any IIMs. But below is the list of colleges where you have a good probability of getting a call and converting it.

• Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Trichy
• Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi
• FORE School of Management, New Delhi
• Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM), Chennai (PGDM Two-Year Programme)
• Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad
• Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA)
• K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research (SIMSR), Mumbai
• MISB Bocconi, Mumbai
• National Institute of Banking & Management (NIBM), Pune

 

 

There is again no surety of selection or getting a call from these colleges because CAT marks are not the only parameter involved in the selection procedure. After CAT exam every college in which you have applied prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer whose weightage varies for all different colleges

 

And after your second round of interview again a new merit list is made which also includes marks of your interview, GD and WSAT which along with CAT marks generally have the highest weightage.

 

If you want to get calls from IIMs then you need to have atleast 95+ percentile so as to get calls from all ultra new and new IIMs. If you want to get calls from some of the old IIMs then you need to have 98+ percentile and for top 3 IIMs, you need to have 99.6+ percentile along with a strong profile as I mentioned above.
