In most of the states , it depends whether you have passed 11th and 12th standard or not from the particular state.
Like for getting 85% quota in Rajasthan , you must have passed 11th and 12th standard from a school in Rajasthan . merely belonging from Rajasthan won't work.

While there are few stated which do not consider from where you passed your 11th and 12th like uttar pradesh.

For gujarat domicile you need to be a resident of gujarat from atleast 4 years.
