The GME stands for Graduation in Maine Engineering.GME is one year full- time pre- sea training course divided into two semesters. This is a conversation course approved by the Directorate General of Shipping and intended for mechanical engineering or naval architecture graduates aspiring to become marine engineers.  

Marine engineering involves engineering of boats, ships, oil rigs and other marine vessels. The discipline essentially deals with the designing, maintenance and construction of naval vessels and ships. Different colleges charge different fee. Hence, average course fee charged ranges from INR 24,000 to 2.4 Lacs.
