CAT syllabus is segmented into 4 parts- quantitative ability, data interpretation, logical reasoning and verbal ability.
You can join a coaching institute or get material from them as they do keep a structured format of each and every exam with mocks.
For Quant you can refer Arun Sharma and Sarvesh Verma. Just buy one of the above.
For data interpretation you can refer coaching institute material as there aren't many good books available for this particular subject.

For verbal you can refer 'word power and easy' by Norman Lewis.

You can go through this link for topics you need to prepare for CAT.

Read newspaper everyday for verbal ability as it will help in reading comprehension, vocabulary and your reading speed will be enhanced. Also read few more books during the preparation for vocabulary and general awareness (fiction, biographies etc)

And keep taking mock tests and analyse result after every test you take.

All the best!

Hi,

CAT has mainly 3 sections:

Quantitative Ability (QA)

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DA & LR)

Verbal & Reading Comprehension (VRC)

There are total 100 questions.

Quantitative Ability (QA) – 34

Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DA & LR) – 32

You can refer to the following link for more details about the CAT syllabus each section wise.

Also give previous year tests and attempt sample/online/offline mocks to know the pattern for CAT  and how you can expect the paper to be.

Good luck!!
