Most of the state boards of technical education in India conduct entrance tests for admission to the diploma programmes offered by various polytechnics in the state. The basic eligiblility criteria is having passed tenth standard or equivalent examination with a majority of it insisting on having 35% aggregate with the age limit criteria differing among states. Since, you haven't specified the state you want to appear for this exam, so I'll suggest just check the notification of that state board regarding the eligibility criteria.
